Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has declared for the NFL draft.

Beck made the announcement Saturday on Instagram, writing: "The past five years at the University of Georgia have been nothing short of a dream come true and I will forever cherish the memories that have been made."

Georgia QB Carson Beck announces on IG he's declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. He didn't have as good a year in 2024 as he did in 2023, and he'll be coming back from the same sort of UCL surgery that Brock Purdy underwent.

So there's a lot for NFL teams to look into on this one. pic.twitter.com/bYa7aaRNH0

Beck played four seasons in Athens, starting each of the past two. He finished his collegiate career with 58 touchdown passes (20 interceptions) and a 68.0 percent completion rate for 7,912 yards (8.6 yards per attempt).

Under Beck, Georgia went 13-1 with an Orange Bowl victory in 2023. The Bulldogs went 11-2 in his 2024 starts, including a SEC Championship win and the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff.

Unfortunately, Beck suffered a UCL injury to his right elbow during the SEC Championship Game while attempting a Hail Mary pass to end the first half of UGA's eventual 22-19 win against Texas on Dec. 8. He was declared out for the season on Dec. 23. However, he's expected to begin throwing by the spring and make a full recovery.

The latest B/R NFL Scouting Department big board from Nov. 22 places Beck 44th overall among prospects and fourth among quarterbacks behind Miami's Cam Ward, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Alabama's Jalen Milroe.

B/R NFL scout Dame Parson gave Beck a second-round grade and provided a pro comparison of Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff "with more mobility/athleticism."

"...Carson Beck is a talented pocket-passing quarterback with enough mobility to remove the statue comparisons," Parson wrote.

"When he is allowed to comfortably and confidently throw with timing and rhythm, Beck will make defenses pay. I appreciate his processing and football IQ. He is best suited for a team with a good supporting cast and rushing attack, alleviating the need for Beck to play hero ball or carry the offense. His overall skill set makes him a potential long-time starter in the NFL."

Beck had one more year of eligibility left after redshirting the 2021 season, but he's going pro now and cashing in on the opportunity to be a first-rounder.
