Odell Beckham Jr.'s Top Potential NFL Landing Spots After Parting Ways with Dolphins

Odell Beckham Jr. is looking for a job after being waived by the Miami Dolphins on Friday.
Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Beckham and the Dolphins agreed to a mutual parting of ways, as he is looking for "more opportunities" the rest of this season.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo added Beckham would only cost a team around $200,000 if they were to claim him on waivers. If he clears waivers and gets released, he will be free to sign with any club.
Beckham has been a non-factor in Miami this season. The three-time Pro Bowler has just nine catches for 55 yards and no touchdowns in nine games. He signed a one-year, $3 million deal with incentives that could push the value up to $8.3 million with the Dolphins in May.
While he is still a marquee name, the odds of Beckham making a big difference in the playoff race if he signs with a contender are low. He had a couple of big games for the Baltimore Ravens during the 2023 season, but was held under 40 yards 10 times in 14 appearances.
Keeping that in mind, there are a few playoff hopefuls that could use another pass-catcher who might be able to make a big play or two for the stretch run this season.
Washington Commanders

Plenty of wide receivers switched teams before the trade deadline, but the Washington Commanders, somewhat surprisingly, weren't in the mix for them. Terry McLaurin is holding his own as the No. 1 wideout, but they lack a reliable second option.
Tight end Zach Ertz currently ranks second on the team in targets (75), receptions (52), receiving yards (501) and receiving touchdowns (four).
Washington's need for another receiver became even more urgent this week when head coach Dan Quinn announced Noah Brown's season is likely over due to a "significant internal injury" suffered in a Week 14 win over the Tennessee Titans.
The Commanders are also playing without Austin Ekeler due to a concussion that landed him on injured reserve before Week 13. Brown and Ekeler rank third and fourth on the team in receiving yards.
Their current receiver depth chart behind McLaurin features Olamide Zaccheaus, Dyami Brown and Luke McCaffrey. They are probably the playoff contender in most desperate need of anyone who is capable of playing receiver right now, making Beckham a natural fit if he wants to join the Commanders.
Houston Texans

A once-promising season for the Houston Texans is quickly turning into a potential disappointment, even though they could clinch the AFC South as soon as Sunday with a win over the Dolphins and an Indianapolis Colts loss to the Denver Broncos.
The Texans have lost three of their last five games, with their only wins against the Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars. Two of those losses was against the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets.
There is no shortage of problems with Houston's offense right now. Many of them revolve around the woeful offensive line, which has caused C.J. Stroud to play like he's concerned about getting hit and forcing throws that he didn't as a rookie.
The Texans' pass-catching group looks much thinner now than it did coming into the season. Some of that is because of injuries, as Stefon Diggs' season ended in Week 8 due to a torn ACL.
Nico Collins missed four games earlier in the year due to a hamstring injury. He has started to play like he did pre-injury, recording 119 yards on eight catches in the Week 14 win over the Jaguars.
But the depth behind Collins is questionable. Tank Dell hasn't had the same explosiveness he did as a rookie. He has just one game this season with more than 75 receiving yards.
Tight end Dalton Schultz and running backs Joe Mixon and Dare Ogunbowale are the only healthy players on the roster after Collins and Dell with more than 200 yards receiving. Among Texans wide receivers, the third-ranked pass catcher by yards this season is John Metchie with 165.
The Texans might be the one team that Beckham could sign with who would be able to guarantee him regular snaps as their No. 3 receiver given what their current group of pass-catchers looks like.
Kansas City Chiefs

If Beckham's top priority is finding a team that can win a Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs would stand out above everyone else. They haven't won many style points this season, but their 12-1 record is tied with the Detroit Lions for the best in the NFL.
No team has been better than the Chiefs at taking a random wide receiver who was added to their roster during the season and having them make a key play in a big moment.
Kadarius Toney, who was acquired from the New York Giants in October 2022, had 82 all-purpose yards and a touchdown in just eight total snaps in Super Bowl 57 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mecole Hardman, acquired in an October 2023 trade with the New York Jets, caught the game-winning touchdown in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58.
It's not hard to envision a scenario where Beckham ends up on the Chiefs and makes a key catch for a first down on third-and-7 in the AFC Championship Game to set up a go-ahead field goal because that's how things go for this team.
The Chiefs could use more depth at receiver going forward. DeAndre Hopkins has had a couple of good games, but his performance is going to vary from week to week now that he is 32 years old.
Travis Kelce has settled in to his new role as a possession receiver. He's not going to break many big plays at this stage of his career because he doesn't have the same athleticism as he did, but his chemistry with Patrick Mahomes is still incredible.
If the Chiefs wanted to bet on Beckham being a player they could put on the field in three-receiver sets, it wouldn't be the strangest move they've made to try finding an answer at receiver over the past two years.
