Eagles' Jalen Hurts Photographed with Bandage on 'Apparently Broken' Finger Injury
December 15, 2024
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was seen wearing a bandage on his "apparently broken finger" before the team clashed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Hurts appeared on the Eagles' injury report with a finger issue on his non-throwing hand, but he was a full participant each day of practice during the week leading up to Sunday's contest.
Hurts appeared to have suffered the injury during a 22-16 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 14, as Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer revealed that the quarterback was wearing tape around his finger after the game.
The 26-year-old has some experience playing through finger issues, as he didn't come out of the Eagles' loss to the New York Giants in Week 17 of the 2023 season after suffering a dislocated middle finger on his right hand.
With the latest injury occurring on the opposite hand, it shouldn't be too difficult for Hurts to throw the ball. Picking up yards on the ground could be more of a challenge, as the dual-threat passer is known for plowing through contact in short-yardage situations.

Hurts is in the midst of another impressive season, completing a career-high 68.3 percent of his throws for 2,602 yards and 16 touchdowns compared to five interceptions. He's also rushed for 544 yards and 13 more scores.
The Eagles have been clicking on both sides of the ball, as they're currently riding a nine-game win streak and sit at 11-2 on the season as a whole.
Philadelphia has already clinched a playoff spot, but head coach Nick Sirianni's team is still searching for its second NFC East crown in three seasons.
Hurts will attempt to play through his finger injury and remain sharp against Pittsburgh's fifth-ranked scoring defense.
Kickoff is at 4:25 p.m. ET.
