Video: Pop-Tarts Bowl Reveals New Trophy with Working Toaster for Miami vs. ISU
December 15, 2024
Last year, the Pop-Tars Bowl "cooked" its own mascot and fed it to the winning team, which probably felt like a fever dream at the time but in fact actually happened.
Rodger Sherman @rodgerThe @PopTartsBowl mascot has lived out his dream. He was lowered into the giant toaster and eaten by the Kansas State football team. RIP he died doing what he loved pic.twitter.com/GCWYMCJn9b
This season the annual bowl is upping the ante, building a working toaster into its trophy... which of course cooks Pop-Tarts.
As the expanded College Football Playoff further casts the other bowl games into glorified exhibition status—as does players entering the transfer portal as soon as the regular season ends—finding a way to stand out is all the more important.
So bowl games of the world, build household appliances into your trophies. Dump mayonnaise or crackers or cereal on the winning coach. Take your brand to new, weird and memorable places. Let's keep it creative out there.
