RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - DECEMBER 19: Tyson Fury (R) and Oleksandr Usyk face off ahead of the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC and WBO Undisputed World Heavyweight Title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury during a press conference as part of Oleksandr Usyk v Tyson Fury 2 at Via Riyadh on December 19, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Saturday's rematch between heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury can't come soon enough, as both fighters are itching to put their hands on one another.

At the end of Thursday's pre-fight press conference, Usyk and Fury met on stage for the staredown and didn't move for a whopping 10 minutes:

There were attempts to separate the two heavyweights a few minutes into their staredown, with WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman being the first to try to step in and get between them. However, neither of them broke their stare. At certain points, someone put a press credential and then a handkerchief in front of Usyk's eyes to try to distract him, but he never took his eyes off the 6'9" Fury.

After minutes of silence, the two boxers eventually started jawing at one another.

"The rabbit's getting it this time. Butchered. Smashed to pieces," Fury told Usyk, according to Kal Sajad of BBC.

"Don't be afraid," Usyk reportedly responded.

Fury got more animated as more people got between them and security attempted to physically drag him away. He resisted for a bit before eventually leaving the scene, and he was later seen dancing with drummers who were performing outside the news conference room.

Usyk defeated Fury by split decision in May to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era and hand Fury his first career loss. The IBF stripped him of his belt after Fury activated his mandatory rematch, but Usyk's WBA, WBC and WBO titles will be on the line on Saturday.

The lengthy staredown continues a new level of intensity from Fury, who had been known for his jovial nature throughout his career. He was asked about what has been causing his edge during fight week, and he didn't mince words.

"I've nothing to say apart from there is going to be a lot of hurt and pain in this fight, you watch," Fury said. "That's all I got to say. Talking's been done. The first fight I talked, I joked--all my career--this time I am serious. I'm gonna do some f--king damage here on Saturday night."
