Falcons vs. Commanders: Updated Odds, Money Line, Spread, Props to Watch for SNF
Joe TanseyDecember 29, 2024Falcons vs. Commanders: Updated Odds, Money Line, Spread, Props to Watch for SNF

The Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders both need to win on Sunday night to feel safer about their playoff prospects in the NFC.
The situations that both teams face should make their Week 17 clash an intriguing matchup.
Atlanta needs a win to stay in front of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South. The assumption is the Bucs will beat the Carolina Panthers, so the Falcons need a win to keep the lead on the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Washington can clinch the final wild-card spot in the NFC with a victory. That would put the Commanders two games ahead of Tampa Bay and the Seattle Seahawks with one week left.
A loss for either team makes Week 18 a lot more nervy, and that could be a tricky situation with rookie quarterbacks at the helm, which makes Sunday night even more important.
Updated SNF Odds

Spread: Washington (-3.5)
Over/Under: 46.5
Money Line: Atlanta (+150; bet $100 to win $150); Washington (-180; bet $180 to win $100)
Washington is one of the best teams against the spread in the NFL at 9-5-1, but it's only 2-4 ATS in its last six games.
The Commanders are 3-3 ATS as a favorite of three or more points, and they carry a 10-5 mark to the over.
Atlanta is one of the best teams to hit the under in the NFL with a 10-5 mark. It is only 6-8-1 ATS.
The Falcons are only 1-3 ATS as an underdog this season and an over has hit just once in one of their games dating back to the start of November.
Falcons Props to Watch

Bijan Robinson Over/Under 85.5 Rushing Yards
The Falcons should rely heavily on their two best players Sunday night.
Bijan Robinson turned in four straight 90-yard performances with two 100-yard outings during that stretch.
He is going up against a Washington defense that was just gashed for 211 rushing yards by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Washington has allowed over 200 rushing yards on three occasions this season, and 12 of its 16 opponents had at least 100 yards on the ground.
it seems like the ideal matchup for Robinson to keep his high-performance streak going in a huge game for the Falcons.
Drake London Over/Under 5.5 Receptions & Over/Under 61.5 Receiving Yards
Drake London received eight targets from Michael Penix Jr. in his first NFL start in Week 16.
That's a promising sign for the relationship between Atlanta's No. 1 pass-catcher and the rookie signal-caller.
Despite being the top target, London has had more than five receptions once in the last five weeks. He has had at least 60 receiving yards in three of those games.
The reception trend might not be too concerning for a game of this magnitude because Penix should get him involved early and often.
London is the most trustworthy pass-catcher in the Atlanta offense, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him eclipse the over on both receiving props.
Commanders Props to Watch

Terry McLaurin Over/Under 5.5 Receptions & Over/Under 64.5 Receiving Yards
We should expect to see a ton of Terry McLaurin on Sunday night.
Washington's top wide receiver is on a four-game scoring streak and has had at least five receptions and 60 receiving yards in the last four contests.
He was targeted on 30 occasions by Jayden Daniels in the last four games as well.
All of the recent trends suggest the Commanders will at least try to give McLaurin a heavy workload in their most important game of the season to date.
Brian Robinson Over/Under 65.5 Rushing Yards
Brian Robinson's situation is a bit different entering Week 17.
Washington's top running back had fumbling issues against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
The second-year man out of Alabama only had 24 yards on 10 carries last week.
Sunday's matchup might not make things better for him. The Atlanta defense has held three of the last four opponents under 100 rushing yards.
That's a bad sign for fantasy football players with Robinson in their championship lineup. For prop bettors, though, it could be a good opportunity to take his under.
