Justin Thomas Plans to Play 'a Little Pissed off' After 2024 Presidents Cup Snub
January 2, 2025
Justin Thomas plans to use his absence on the 2024 Presidents Cup roster as fuel in 2025.
"I haven't had the opportunity to play pissed off for a while, so I'm pretty excited to play a little pissed off this year," Thomas said on Wednesday, per Brody Miller of The Athletic.
The two-time major champion was ultimately left off a 12-man United States team that was headlined by Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schaffele, the top two players in the World Golf Ranking.

Thomas was a member of the prior three U.S. squads in the Presidents Cup, owning an all-time record of 17-7-4 in the competition.
Presidents Cup captain Jim Furyk previously explained the "difficult decision" to leave Thomas off the roster, via Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press.
"It was a difficult decision with JT, definitely a difficult call to make," Furyk said after the team was revealed. "But as a captain, you're trying to make the best decision, put the best 12 guys together, fit the puzzle pieces together, the pairings together."
While the 31-year-old didn't make an appearance, Team USA still won the event for a 10th consecutive time. The United States defeated the International team by the score of 18.5-11.5, with Keegan Bradley's 1-up win clinching the victory.

Thomas, the World's No. 19-ranked player, will continue to search for his first major win since 2022 as he opens the 2025 season.
He'll look to start the new year on a high note at The Sentry on Wednesday, an event that he won in 2017 and 2020.
