Death, taxes...and NFL fans furious that their team's best players didn't make the Pro Bowl.

It's become an annual tradition, and while it's true that people just like to complain on social media, many fans do have legitimate gripes with head-scratching Pro Bowl snubs.

The roster was announced Thursday morning on Good Morning Football. Ian Rapoport shared the full list as well on X:

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce garnered the most votes, at 252,200, followed by the Detroit Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs.

The Baltimore Ravens had the most players named to the Pro Bowl of any NFL team, with nine, including two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.

The Detroit Lions had the next most players named, with seven, followed by the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles, with six.

On one hand, given the fan vote element of the Pro Bowl roster selection, you could argue that fans only have themselves to blame if their favorite players didn't make it in.

However, the fan vote only accounts for one-third of the selection criteria; coaches and players round out the remaining 2/3 of votes.

Perhaps the biggest name missing from the roster announcement was Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was not named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster for the first time since becoming the starter in 2018.

Many users on X suggested that Mahomes' snub, as well as that of cornerback Trent McDuffie, will give the team the motivation it needs to win its third-straight Super Bowl.

Krown City King @KrownCityKing

Well, if it wasn't already gonna happen, Patrick Mahomes and Trent Mcduffie not making the pro bowl virtually guarantees a Chiefs three-peat.

But it's obvious that Mahomes is simply not having as good a season as the three AFC signal-callers who did make the conference's roster: Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson.

Another quarterback fans were surprised to see left off the list? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield. He currently ranks third in the league in passing yards (4,279) and is tied for second in both touchdown passes (39) and completion percentage (71.7%).

A name that appeared over and over as fans focused on player snubs was Lions safety Kerby Joseph, who currently leads the NFL with nine interceptions.

Frustratingly for fans, Joseph received the most fan votes of any safety, which means that he didn't receive enough from players and coaches to ultimately make it in.

The Pro Bowl is the Pro Bowl, I get it. But I…do not understand how you leave Kerby Joseph off.

Michigan's WoodTV called it the "biggest Pro Bowl snub of all time."

Another defender fans feel has been overlooked is Houston Texans pass-rusher Danielle Hunter, who did make the Pro Bowl last season with the Vikings.

Cody Stoots @Cody_Stoots

Texans defensive end Danielle Hunter is the NFL's league leader in quarterback pressures, tops in quarterback pressure percentage, and the top in pass rush win rate and he didn't make the Pro Bowl?

Hunter leads the NFL with 90 QB pressures and has notched 12 sacks, two behind Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson, who are tied for first.

John Crumpler @JohnHCrumpler

Lots of deserving players but sure seems like fan voting & name carried Maxx Crosby to the Pro Bowl over Danielle Hunter. Per NGS:

Crosby: 53 QB pressures, 12.3% pressure %, 7.5 sacks

Hunter: 90 QB pressures, 19.3% pressure %, 12.0 sacks

Hunter should be there #HTownMade pic.twitter.com/QSYG5zCGe6

The 2025 Pro Bowl will be held on Thursday, January 30 (Pro Bowl Skills Show) and Sunday, February 2 (Pro Bowl Games) in Orlando, Florida. The events will be televised on ESPN.
