Riviera Country Club is expected to resume hosting the tournament beginning in 2026.

ESPN's Mark Schlabach initially reported that possible locations under consideration included La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta, the site of the American Express, and Torrey Pines, which is set to host the Farmers Insurance Open.

Riviera Country Club has hosted a professional men's competition on 60 separate occasions since 1929. Hideki Matsuyama previously won the Genesis in 2024.

Woods addressed the 2025 event last Tuesday.

"We're trying to just figure everything out and make sure that everyone is safe and we have meetings scheduled going forward," Woods said, per The Athletic's Gabby Herzig. "But as of right now, we're not really focused on the tournament. It's more about what we can do to help everyone who's struggling, who's lost homes and had their lives changed."

The Genesis will keep its original dates from February 10-16 on the PGA calendar.
