NFL Playoff Bracket 2025: Picture, Schedule After Divisional Round Results
January 19, 2025
One of the longest conference championship droughts in football has been broken.
The Washington Commanders are set to compete in the NFC Championship Game for the first time in 33 years after upsetting the Detroit Lions on Saturday.
Only the Philadelphia Eagles, who advanced past the divisional round with a Sunday victory over the Los Angeles Rams, stand between rookie quarterback Jaylen Daniels and the Super Bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs are meanwhile set to play in the AFC title game for a seventh straight season after Saturday's win over the Houston Texans.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will play the Buffalo Bills, who toppled the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's Divisional round finale, to keep their championship three-peat hopes alive.
Here's a look at the state of the playoff picture and remaining schedule as we head into the conference championships.
2025 NFL Playoff Schedule
Conference Championships
Sunday, Jan. 26
Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles, 3 p.m. ET
Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs, 6:30 p.m. ET
Super Bowl LIX
Sunday, Feb. 9
AFC Champion vs. NFC Champion, 6:30 p.m. ET
The Chiefs have played in every AFC Championship Game since the 2018 season, and that streak won't end this winter.
Mahomes and the Chiefs won four of those conference championship games on the team's way to three championships. Now the two-time reigning champs will wait to see which opponent they will be playing for another shot at the Super Bowl.
The Commanders won a spot in the NFC Championship Game under the dome at Detroit's Ford Field, but Sunday's divisional round contests were impacted by weather.
The Eagles defeated the Rams in a snowy contest in Philadelphia, while the Bills forced the Ravens to make three turnovers in a sub-freezing contest in Buffalo.
The Rams and Eagles could be playing in snow in Philadelphia, while the Ravens and Bills are slated to compete in sub-freezing temperatures in Buffalo.
The Chiefs entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the AFC, so the conference championship game was set to take place at Arrowhead Stadium regardless of which team advanced to the next round.
Now it will be the Bills making the trip to Kansas City for a shot at eliminating the defending champions.
The Commanders meanwhile made it through to the conference championship as the No. 6 seed and are therefore slated to travel to face the No. 2 Eagles in Philadelphia next weekend.
Two of these remaining four teams will win a trip to New Orleans and a shot at Super Bowl LIX in two weeks.
