Steelers Announce 2026 NFL Draft Dates; Will Be Held from April 23-25
January 23, 2025
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday that the 2026 NFL draft in the city will be held from Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25.
Pittsburgh will be the latest city to host the event after the NFL moved it away from New York City, which served as the host from 1965 to 2014 and often utilized the Radio City Music Hall as the venue.
In the intervening years, the host cities for the event have included Chicago (2015-16), Philadelphia (2017), Arlington (2018), Nashville (2019), Cleveland (2021), Las Vegas (2022), Kansas City (2023) and Detroit (2024). In 2020, the draft was held remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, Green Bay will host the event.
The host cities have made the draft quite the spectacle, bringing a regional flair to event, and Pittsburgh is expected to continue in that tradition.
"As we move closer to the 2026 NFL Draft, we're working closely with VisitPITTSBURGH, the Steelers and all our partners on the ground to ensure local and visiting fans will enjoy an unforgettable event," the NFL's executive vice president of club business, league events and international, Peter O'Reilly, said in a statement. "We're excited to spotlight the city throughout our Draft festivities and show the world the passion and vibrancy of the Pittsburgh community."
"The 2026 NFL Draft is an opportunity to celebrate football and Pittsburgh's unique place in the history of the game," Steelers president Art Rooney II added, "while also promoting our region nationally and globally across the rare platform provided by the NFL Draft."
