Commanders vs. Eagles: Updated Odds, Box Score Predictions for NFC Championship 2025

    Bleacher Report

The Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles will square off for the third time this season in the 2025 NFC Championship Game.

Philadelphia was expected to be playing on Sunday, but Washington's push to the third round of the postseason stunned many experts.

The Commanders' high-flying offense exploited the holes in the Detroit Lions defense in the divisional round, but they might not be able to do the same thing against the Eagles.

Terry McLaurin did not have strong performances in both meetings with the Eagles, while Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown both thrived against the Commanders.

Barkley's been the star of the Eagles' postseason run so far, but Brown might have more to say on Sunday after a lackluster two games.

Washington must find a way for Terry McLaurin to unlock the Eagles secondary.

The Commanders' top pass-catcher totaled six catches for 70 yards in the two regular-season meetings with the Eagles.

Austin Ekeler and Olamide Zaccheaus were Washington's receiving-yard leaders in the two NFC East battles.

McLaurin will be matched up with Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate Quinyon Mitchell in one of the game's vital head-to-head battles.

Jayden Daniels can't force feed McLaurin, but he also can't fully avoid him if the Eagles blanket him.

Ekeler, Zach Ertz and Dyami Brown will have to play vital roles on Sunday in order for McLaurin to get more open in the Eagles secondary.

Ekeler could be in for a large workload in the short passing game if the Eagles' pass rush gets to Daniels.

The running back had eight catches on nine targets for 89 yards in the first meeting with the Eagles. He did not play in the second game due to a concussion. He has seven catches on eight targets so far in the postseason.

    Stat Predictions

Terry McLaurin: 3 receptions, 45 receiving yards

Austin Ekeler: 6 receptions, 55 receiving yards, 37 rushing yards

Saquon Barkley has understandably received all of the headlines inside the Eagles offense this postseason.

Barkley ran for 150 and 146 yards in his two meetings with the Commanders this season, so it would not be a surprise to see him cruise past the century mark on the ground again.

The Eagles could open up their passing game more on Sunday to get A.J. Brown more involved.

Brown recorded 162 receiving yards against Washington in the regular season.

He only has 24 receiving yards in two postseason games and is due to have a heavy workload in an ideal matchup and in better conditions than the snow that blanketed the divisional round clash with the Los Angeles Rams.

Washington allowed 320 passing yards to the Lions last week. The Eagles might not hit that number because of Barkley's rushing production, but it should be expected to see at least 200 passing yards in a Philadelphia victory.

    Stat Predictions

    A.J. Brown: 7 receptions, 110 yards, TD

Saquon Barkley: 21 carries, 135 rushing yards
