In his first 2025 NFL mock draft released Saturday, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah projected two quarterbacks to come off the board inside the top six selections.

Jeremiah has Miami quarterback Cam Ward going third overall to the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders taking Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders sixth overall.

The top 10 picks in Jeremiah's initial mock draft were as follows:

1. Tennessee Titans: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

3. New York Giants: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

4. New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

6. Las Vegas Raiders: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

7. New York Jets: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

8. Carolina Panthers: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

9. New Orleans Saints: Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

10. Chicago Bears: Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama

While it is possible for another quarterback such as Alabama's Jalen Milroe or Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart to work their way into the first-round conversation, Ward and Sanders are seemingly the only slam dunk first-rounders at the position currently.

Ward starred at FCS Incarnate Word and Washington State before transferring to Miami for the 2024 season, which was a move that paid huge dividends for his draft stock.

He performed well in his two seasons at Washington State, completing 65.5 percent of his passes for 6,968 yards, 48 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, while also rushing for 13 scores, but Ward took his game to the next level with the Hurricanes.

In 13 games last season, Ward completed 67.2 percent of his passing attempts for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and seven picks, plus he rushed for 204 yards and four touchdowns.

That production led to Ward being named a Heisman Trophy finalist and finishing fourth in the voting.

Sanders arrived to FBS to a bit more fanfare after dominating at the FCS level with Jackson State under the tutelage of his father, Deion Sanders.

When the Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback was hired as the head coach at Colorado, he brought his son with him, and Shedeur had a smooth transition to the next level of college football.

His debut season with the Buffaloes was solid, as he completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions, however, Colorado went just 4-8 as a team.

The Buffs improved to 9-4 in 2024, though, and Shedeur was a big reason why, as he had a completion percentage of 74.0 percent with 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 picks.

Sanders won Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors and finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting, plus he played a big role in teammate Travis Hunter winning the Heisman.

There are several teams picking near the top of the 2025 NFL draft with a glaring need at quarterback, including the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and Giants, who are picking first, second and third, respectively.

While the Titans and Browns could conceivably take Ward or Sanders, Carter and Hunter are pretty universally considered better overall prospects than the quarterbacks.

Should the Titans and Browns take a best-play-available approach, the Giants would have their choice of the quarterbacks, which is a desperate need after they released Daniel Jones during the 2024 season.

Since the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars are both set at quarterback, the Raiders would likely see the second quarterback fall to them at No. 6 in that scenario.

The Raiders have a new head coach in Pete Carroll and likely want a clean slate at the most important position since Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew both struggled in 2024, meaning it is difficult to envision them passing up a quarterback if they have a chance to take either Ward or Sanders.
