Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark's senior season at Iowa turned out to be one of the most lucrative years ever seen in college sports.

According to Scott Dochterman of The Athletic, Iowa's women's basketball program generated more than $3.2 million in home ticket sales for the 2023-24 season, which was "by far the most in Big Ten history."

It was the second straight year that the Hawkeyes broke the Big Ten attendance record, as the team sold $1.4 million in home tickets in 2022-23 to set a then-school record. Every home ticket for the 2023-24 season was sold out three months in advance, making Iowa the Big Ten's first women's basketball program to accomplish that feat. It was also the first time at Iowa that the women's basketball program outsold the men.

In addition to Iowa's fiscal gains in ticket sales, Dochterman noted that all nine of the team's Big Ten road matchups were sold out and six of those programs "combined for nearly $1.5 million more in ticket sales than in fiscal year 2023."

While Clark moved on to the WNBA and enjoyed a historic rookie season in which she broke numerous records and earned 66 out of 67 votes for Rookie of the Year, her impact is still being felt at Iowa. Dochterman reported that the program "should break its revenue mark once again after selling out the 2024-25 season."

Clark is set to return to her former home of Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday for her jersey retirement ceremony as Iowa takes on No. 4 USC.
