Jalen Hurts Has 'Moved on' from Eagles' Super Bowl Loss to Chiefs Ahead of Rematch
January 31, 2025
Ahead of a Super Bowl clash with the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn't reminisced about the last meeting between the two teams in the title game.
When asked on Friday about getting over the Eagles' 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, Hurts was blunt.
"I moved on," Hurts said.
Philadelphia finished 14-3 in 2022, scoring at least 30 points and allowing fewer than seven points in both NFC playoff matchups before narrowly falling to Kansas City.
The Eagles held a six-point lead heading into the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl clash, but the Chiefs responded with a pair of touchdowns before Harrison Butker kicked the game-winning field goal with 11 seconds left in regulation.

A last-second heave towards the end zone from Hurts fell short, sealing the loss.
The Eagles have been similarly dominant in 2024, ending the regular season with an identical 14-3 mark. They're also coming off a strong postseason run that culminated with an NFC title, outscoring their three opponents 105-55.
Hurts has stepped up in the playoffs once again, completing 69.6 percent of his throws for 505 yards and three touchdowns without getting picked off through three games. He's also rushed for 122 yards and found the end zone four times on the ground.
The 26-year-old will need to stay sharp against a Chiefs team that owned the fourth-best scoring defense in the NFL during the regular season, allowing just 19.2 points per game.
While the Super Bowl LVII loss may not be in the back of Hurts' mind anymore, he'll still be looking to avenge the prior defeat and help the Eagles win their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
Kickoff between Kansas City and Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX is on Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
