Eagles' Saquon Barkley, Girlfriend Anna Congdon Get Engaged Ahead of Super Bowl 59

Win or lose in Super Bowl 59 next Sunday, Saquon Barkley has something to celebrate this offseason.

The Philadelphia Eagles star running back and his girlfriend, Anna Congdon, are engaged, he told People's Natasha Dye.

"I can't be the athlete I am and have the success I have so in my career without the help of her," Barkley said. "She's been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life there's a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.

"And it's a beautiful thing because we have two amazing children that we were raised it and we just sit back and laugh sometimes when they're over there playing and just smile and think about where everything started."

According to Dye, Barkley and Congdon met at Penn State and have been together since 2017. They had their first child, Jada, in 2018 and their second, Saquon Jr., in 2022.

It's been quite the year for Barkley. Along with his engagement, he led the league in rushing yards with 2,005, coming just 100 yards short of the single-season rushing record. In his first year in Philadelphia, the Eagles finished the regular season 14-3 and beat the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Washington Commanders on their way to the Super Bowl.

Now, the Philadelphia will face the Kansas City Chiefs as Barkley looks to put an exclamation on an outstanding year.
