College Football Top 25 Rankings Post-2025 National Signing Day

College football may be officially in the offseason, but there is still plenty of recruiting going on. Wednesday's National Signing Day gave coaches time to put a pin in their 2025 recruiting classes.

Although we published a way-too-early top 25 heading into the 2025-26 season a few weeks ago, let's reassess where things stand following NSD.

Some of the biggest winners in the 2025 recruiting cycle were Texas, Georgia, Ohio State among others.

Let's run through the post-NSD top 25 rankings as the 2025 recruiting cycle winds down.

National Signing Day was one of the quietest we've had in many years. There were only a few big signings of note.

4-star offensive tackle Ty Haywod was one of the last remaining blue-chip prospects that remained unsigned heading into NSD. He ended up at Michigan, a big get for head coach Sherrone Moore.

He and his staff were successfully able to sway Haywood, out of Denton, Texas, away from his home state. Haywood is the No. 6 ranked offensive tackle from the class of 2024.

Another blue-chip prospect that entered Wednesday unsigned was 4-star edge-rusher Zahir Mathis. Mathis, out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, ended up signing with Maryland on Wednesday.

The No. 13 ranked edge-rusher from the class of 2024 committed to the Terps despite holding offers from Ohio State, Florida State and Alabama. Maryland's 2024 class finished Wednesday ranked ninth in the Big Ten and 29th nationally.

Elsewhere, longtime Tennessee commit Onis Konanbanny flipped to Florida's 2024 class on Wednesday. The 4-star cornerback is the No. 8 ranked prospect out of South Carolina.

For the first time in the modern era of recruiting, the Longhorns inked the top class in the 2025 cycle. The class is impressively first in the SEC, ahead of Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Florida.

The Longhorns' 2025 class is headlined by four 5-stars, including defensive lineman Justus Terry. Terry, who is the No. 2 ranked prospect out of the state of Georgia, spurned his home-state school and signed with Texas during the Early Signing Period.

The class also includes big names like 5-star safeties Jonah Willams and Kade Phillips, receiver Kaliq Lockett and edge-rusher Lance Jackson.

Recruiting classes aside, the Longhorns are returning some major pieces from last season. Defensively, getting guys like safety Michael Taaffe, linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and edge-rusher Trey Moore is huge. The Longhorns will officially turn to Arch Manning under center in 2025, and the young star will have plenty of talent around him. Texas gets back receivers Trey Wingo and DeAndre Moore, as well as running back CJ Baxter.

Texas has +550 odds to win the national title in 2025. Steve Sarkisian's 2025 recruiting class will pair with the talent he's returning next season to make the Longhorns an early favorite to win it all.

The Miami Hurricanes entered the 2024 season with a loaded roster and playoff hopes. Instead, Miami didn't even make it to the ACC title game, and the season ended with a loss to Iowa State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.

Miami's 2025 recruiting class may not create much confidence in Canes fans. It ranks well outside of the top 10 at 15th in the 247Sports Composite and includes zero 5-stars with 16 4-stars.

The class experienced some key losses during the Early Signing Period, including 4-stars in safety Hylton Stubbs and linebacker Gavin Nix. Stubbs ultimately signed with in-state rival Florida, and Nix signed with Oregon. Miami also wasn't able to close on two of its biggest targets, in 5-star cornerback DJ Pickett, who signed with LSU, and Tarvos Alford, who signed with Ohio State.

Yes, getting big-name transfer portal guys like quarterback Carson Beck and receiver CJ Daniels can help Miami win in 2025. But the Canes' recruiting class doesn't build for the future as much as you'd expect.
