Anthony Davis, Giannis Out for NBA All-Star Game; Silver to Name Injury Replacements

NBA All-Star Weekend has lost two of its biggest stars.

NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis and Milwaukee Bucks foward Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the All-Star game due to injuries. Haynes added that NBA commissioner Adam Silver will select the injury replacements.

Anthony Davis is dealing with an adductor strain that he sustained in his debut game with the Mavericks on Saturday. Antetokounmpo is out due to a calf strain.

Davis was traded to the Mavericks last week from the Los Angeles Lakers and had 26 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists in 31 minutes prior to exiting Dallas' 116-105 victory over the Houston Rockets. On the season, Davis has averaged 25.7 points, 12 rebounds. 3.4 assists and 2.2 blocks in 43 games.

Antetokounmpo has been out since Feb. 2 with the calf strain and is expected to return to action shortly after the All-Star break. He has averaged 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 41 games.

The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend is scheduled for Feb 14-15 in San Francisco, California.
