Eagles Schedule 2025: Potential Opponents for NFL Opening Night After Super Bowl Win

The Philadelphia Eagles are celebrating the team's Super Bowl 59 victory, but it's never too early to take a look at the 2025 season.

The opponent that the Eagles will play to start their title defense isn't official just yet. They can face a variety of teams at home including the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders (h/t NFL.com's Kevin Patra).

Here's the full list of eligible opponents that Philadelphia can matchup with to kick off its 2025 campaign.

Eagles' Potential 2025 Week 1 Opponents

The Eagles' NFC East foes are all candidates for them to battle with in Week 1, as they're guaranteed to play two games against their division rivals every season.

A possible clash with the Commanders would be intriguing, representing a rematch of the NFC Championship Game. Even though Philadelphia emerged with a 55-23 win, Washington only trailed by 12 points entering the fourth quarter before the Eagles eventually pulled away.

It isn't difficult to imagine the Commanders taking another step forward in 2025 with Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels entering his second season in the NFL. They also have the third-most 2025 cap space to make upgrades to their roster, via Over the Cap.

Another possible playoff rematch would feature the Rams, as they lost to Philadelphia 28-22 in the divisional round. The six-point defeat was the closest final margin of any team that the Eagles faced during their 2024-25 postseason run.

While there isn't any recent playoff history between Detroit and Philadelphia, a clash between two NFC teams that finished the regular season with a combined 29-5 record would be compelling.

The Lions also owned the league's No. 1 scoring offense in 2024, while the Eagles held the second-ranked scoring defense.

The NFL's 2025 schedule release date isn't currently set, but it typically occurs in the spring.
