Moise Kean spent the best part of 80 minutes receiving monkey chants from the Cagliari home fans tonight... Despite the Cagliari captain asking the fans to stop, they continued to abuse Kean and Matuidi. Kean then scored in the 85th minute and celebrated in-front of them. https://t.co/eQXGWO41cL

    My Son Awareness Month @JamesTylerESPN

Moise Kean -- or any player, for that matter -- should be able to celebrate a goal without it being deemed open season for angry fans to respond like this https://t.co/wUUR26U0ww

  6. Gabriele Marcotti @Marcotti

@JamesTylerESPN It's the other way around (which makes Bonucci's words even more demented). Kean was racially abused and then celebrated his goal by staring down the fans. He was responding to the abuse. He wasn't getting abused because of the celebration.

  7. The Cooligans @SoccerCooligans

“How do you feel about racist chants from fans towards one of your teammates?” Leonardo Bonucci: https://t.co/0xvWwJ74RC

#Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci claimed Moise Kean had to shoulder “50-50 blame” for racist abuse from #Cagliari fans https://t.co/YNVoXHMoKL #CagliariJuve #CagliariJuventus #SerieA https://t.co/Y4UFoERjyM

  10. Adam Digby @Adz77

Just so we’re clear; After being racially abused by Cagliari fans throughout the match, Moise Kean can celebrate any fucking way he wants & none of it is his fault. 👊🏽 https://t.co/Q1fdkextiO

  11. Georgie Bingham @georgiebingham

Here’s Bonucci exercising some good old fashioned ‘white man privilege’ with his comments, that are almost as bad as the racism itself. He’s white, he isn’t subjected to it, he has no place laying blame at Moise Kean’s door. Embarrassing. We ALL need to fight racism. https://t.co/zP4lqQFz0H

  12. Footy Accumulators @FootyAccums

Cagliari's President on the racist chanting towards Moise Kean: "If there were racist jeers, then our fans got it wrong, but it happened because of the celebration and would’ve happened even if the goalscorer had a different colour of skin.” What the actual f*ck...

  13. Footy Accumulators @FootyAccums

Continued (all genuine quotes via Football Italia): “If Bernardeschi had celebrated like that, he would’ve been treated exactly the same way by our fans. If Dybala had the same drama queen antics after the goal that Matuidi did, he would’ve been treated exactly the same way."

  14. Si Lloyd @SmnLlyd5

Fair play to the Juve fans - and there's a lot of them - calling out Bonucci for his idiotic "50-50" comments about Moise Kean being racially abused last night. So many replying to his last tweet with this. https://t.co/DTgIfpSC8r

  15. Andrew Cesare @acrcalcio

No doubt Juventus will spin this in some way, Bonucci will apologise if his words "offended anybody" But, of his own free will, aware of the racist abuse, he has justified it because of a player's celebration. Don't ever forget that

Bonucci can go fuck himself https://t.co/Ag8ihZLhoU

  17. John Molinaro @JohnMolinaro

Bonucci's comments should surprise me. But they don't. They are typical of the many ignorant attitudes regarding race and racism that are prevalent in Italy.

  18. Jonathan Fisher @fishplums

In every highlight clip I've seen from Cagliari vs Juventus, you can hear monkey chants. Moise Kean showed unbelievable restraint to only celebrate as much as he did. https://t.co/9UruenUmPK

  19. 360Sources @360Sources

The Italian football authorities clearly don’t care about racism because it is instilled in their culture. The comments from Bonucci last night were vile but not surprising at all, a so called leader not respecting his own racially abused teammate is simply disgusting to see.

  20. amadí @amadoit__

damn, Bonucci. so much for representing your teammates and having their back. fuck all the way off.

2019: Moise Kean racially abused by Cagliari fans 2018: Blaise Matuidi racially abused by Cagliari fans 2017: Sulley Muntari racially abused by Cagliari fans

  22. Cerè @Cerebrone

The ironic thing is that Bonucci reacted to boos from Juve fans last season by celebrating a goal in front of them “provocatively”. That wasn’t even in the same stratosphere as racist abuse. Imagine blaming a kid for reacting to racist abuse by scoring & staring down his abusers.
